At the weekend we had lots of happy walkers on our guided walk. If you haven’t been on one of our guided walks, why not take a look at the programme and plan one in. They are now conveniently on their own page on our website
We are still looking for books to fill our shelf on Platform 2 Huddersfield Station – why not have a pre-christmas clear out and donate?
Stuck for activities for the children to take part in at half term (w/c 23rd October 2017)? Nature’s Footprints are offering FREE forest school workshops at Huddersfield’s Beaumont Park. Beaumont Park is located approximately 15 minutes walk from Lockwood Station. The places are limited so book up quick! They really are a fantastic for children to be at one with nature.
Rowena continues her Rail safety talks today with a visit to St Peter’s school in Birstall. A bit further away from the Penistone Line but we are always pleased to share the Rail safety message and promote our lovely Penistone Line!
Help shape the future of West Yorkshire’s transport
West Yorkshire Combined Authority is looking for members of the public to be part of our Kirklees District Transport Consultation Sub-Committee.
Held quarterly, District Consultation Sub-Committee meetings bring together members of the public, local transport companies and district councillors to discuss local transport issues. Meetings take place on a weekday four times a year. Membership is voluntary, but reasonable expenses involved in travelling to the meetings is paid.
The meetings provide updates on local transport services and developments and enable members to highlight public transport concerns with transport operators. They are also an opportunity for the Combined Authority and its partners to consult on local transport policies and proposals.
No specialist transport knowledge is needed, but applicants must live in the Kirklees district. The Combined Authority would like to recruit people who have experience of public transport, cycling and walking in West Yorkshire. Members representing wider interest groups such as walking, cycling, people with disabilities, young people, BME communities, public transport users and other community forums are also being encouraged to apply.
For further details and an application pack, visit the website: www.westyorks-ca.gov.uk/dcsc or call 0113 251 7216.
Application forms should be returned no later than Friday 3 November 2017.
