A surprisingly green walk and one that takes in various nature reserves. \n(option of bus back to Barnsley). \nStart: 9.10am at WOMBWELL station. Finish: ELSECAR. \nDistance: approx. 8 – 10 miles. \nLeader: John Harker (07929-051978) \nDepart: Huddersfield 0812\, Honley 0821\, Shepley 0829\, Denby Dale 0834\, Penistone 0842\, Barnsley 0900 to arrive WOMBWELL 0905. \nDepart: Lincoln 0645\, Saxilby 0654\, Gainsborough Lea Road 0706\, Retford 0719\, Worksop 0730 and all stations to arrive at Sheffield 0804\, then change to: \nDepart: Sheffield 0835\, Meadowhall 0840\, Chapeltown 0847\, Elsecar 0853 to arrive Wombwell at 0856. \nRAIL REPLACEMENT BUS SERVICE: Huddersfield to & from Lockwood \nThe TransPennine Route Upgrade (TRU) will continue during 2025. There could be periods when Huddersfield station will be completely closed to all services. During these periods\, a rail replacement bus service will depart from Huddersfield to connect with the Penistone Line train at Lockwood station.
