DESCRIPTION:Celebrating the 175th anniversary of the first section of the Line between Penistone and Huddersfield which opened on 1st July 1850\, we will view the displays on Denby Dale station before taking our route along public footpaths across fields and country lanes to our finish at the Station Inn next to Silkstone Common station. \nStart: 9.40am at DENBY DALE station. Finish: SILKSTONE COMMON. \nDistance: 7 – 8 miles. Leader: Geoff Ryder (07837-915847). \nDepart: Huddersfield 0848 (BUS)\,  Lockwood 0915 (TRAIN)\, Berry Brow 0918\, Honley 0921\, Shepley 0930 to DENBY DALE 0936. \nDepart: Lincoln 0643\, Gainsborough LR 0703\, Retford 0717\, Worksop 0730 to Sheffield 0804 then change: \nDepart: Sheffield 0835\, Meadowhall 0840\, Chapeltown 0847\, Elsecar 0853\, Wombwell 0856\, Barnsley 0903\, Dodworth 0909\, Silkstone Common 0912\, Penistone 0919 to DENBY DALE 0926. \nRAIL REPLACEMENT BUS SERVICE: Huddersfield to & from Lockwood \nThe TransPennine Route Upgrade (TRU) will continue during 2025. There could be periods when Huddersfield station will be completely closed to all services. During these periods\, a rail replacement bus service will depart from Huddersfield to connect with the Penistone Line train at Lockwood station.
