The village centre is on the western side of the Holme valley while the High School and Honley Station are located to the eastern side of the River Holme. Honley is famous for its annual agricultural show which celebrated its centenary in September 2021. The Honley Players put on shows at Southgate Theatre in the village, and Honley Village Community Trust saved and maintain Magdale Fields & Dam.
