We want to improve our community rail service and environment for local users. By engaging with stakeholders in the rail industry, businesses near the Penistone Line and support services, we can build a network of people to work together to put their local station at the heart of the community.
We have mentioned the work we do with schools on a separate page. We have a great relationship with the Department of Art, Design & Architecture at the University of Huddersfield who engage with our community rail officer on an annual community project.
Local voluntary and support groups have worked with the Penistone Line Partnership on various projects to improve station presentation, develop walks, artwork and take part in special events to promote the line. Musicians, poets, and choirs entertain on the train and at our staffed stations at seasonal events.
Our community rail officer will continue to arrange meetings and events with the aim of attracting a wider and more inclusive representation of our communities.
If you would like to get involved, please Contact Us or see our Station Adoption & Volunteer pages.
