David Cook has kindly offered to lead today on a shorter route to reflect the end of the year. 

From Wombwell via the Dove Valley Trail, Stairfoot and Dearne Valley Park aiming to finish in Barnsley centre early afternoon, around 2pm, 

to connect with return trains or buses in time to see in the New Year! 

Likely to be a cold day so please wrap up well.  

Start: 9.30am at WOMBWELL station. 

Finish: BARNSLEY.

NEW YEAR’S EVE TRAVEL PLANS: 

NORTHERN train services are expected to shutdown early. Check if you intend to travel after 1800 (6pm). 

TRAVEL SOUTH YORKSHIRE says the last bus will run around 1900 (7pm) and last tram around 1800 (6pm). 

METRO WEST YORKSHIRE says bus services will gradually be reduced from 1800 (6pm) with no services after 2000 (8pm).
