On 22 May 2025, during Community Rail Week, Penistone Line Partnership, SYMCA, and High Peak & Hope Valley Community Rail Partnership hosted a Song Walk. This was a pilot project to celebrate Railway 200 with a Community Rail Week event.
Guests travelled from Kirklees stations on the Penistone Line, picking up in Penistone and Meadowhall. The group joined guests meeting us at Sheffield station to travel by Northern along the Hope Valley Line to Edale in the Peak District.
Guests were given a souvenir booklet and song sheet, which followed Tegwen Roberts at notable sites within Edale. The Song Walk was based on the history of the Clarion Ramblers and the songs they sang.
