Northern’s Danielle Clarkson kindly arranged for additional volunteers to meet Friends of Shepley Station for a community workday.
PLP thanks Shepley Magazine for sneaking the article into their May Issue 84, on page 14, about the volunteer work to tidy/paint the station area and bridge.
We also thank Friends of Shepley Station for their continued support at the station. There is much to be done, and the Outline Business Case by SLC is currently awaiting sign-off. PLP hopes to speak with Kirklees Council shortly to arrange a meeting. The community urgently needs improvements to the station to provide level access on both platforms.
Please note that Northern provides the rail service on the Penistone Line, but is not involved in the upgrade process at this stage.
